Multicultural Malaysia weaves faith, language, and resilience together
Every contribution — a story, an hour, a partnership — strengthens the network across Southeast Asia.
Refugee protection, displacement, cross-border aid, and humanitarian coordination.
ASEAN hosts significant displaced populations: Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh-adjacent areas, Myanmar refugees in Thai border camps, asylum seekers in Malaysia and Indonesia, and internally displaced people inside Myanmar. Humanitarian solidarity means protecting people on the move, supporting host communities, and pressing for durable solutions. Major humanitarian actors include UNHCR country offices, the International Red Cross movement, UN OCHA, and ASEAN-coordinated appeals. Humanitarian work spans refugee status determination, shelter and food aid, education in camps, mental health support for trauma survivors, and resettlement advocacy. Solidarity efforts fund humanitarian operations, support refugee self-reliance programmes, train protection monitors, and amplify displaced voices.
