Landlocked Laos opens new paths for regional solidarity
Every contribution — a story, an hour, a partnership — strengthens the network across Southeast Asia.
Gender equity, women in tech, maternal health, and girls' education.
Women across ASEAN navigate vastly different legal and social contexts, from Brunei's conservative Islamic frameworks to Vietnam's strong female labour force participation. Gender solidarity spans economic empowerment (cooperatives, fair-trade fashion, microfinance), girls' education (scholarships, mentorship, school safety), maternal health, ending gender-based violence (shelters, hotlines, legal aid), and women's leadership in politics, business, and peacebuilding. Regional movements amplify Malaysian and Indonesian feminist organising, support Cambodian garment workers' rights, back Filipino women's participation in peace processes, and connect Vietnamese and Thai women leaders across borders. Educated girls become healthier mothers and stronger economic contributors.
